21% more CPAs were licensed in 2010 than in 2009.
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel (ICPAS) today announced that a record number of CPAs have been licensed. 1,442 new CPAs were licensed in 2010, 21% more than the 1,191 CPAs licensed in 2009.
This is the largest number of CPAs licensed in one year since ICPAS was founded 80 years ago.
On January 17 in a ceremony at Binyanei Ha'Uma International Convention Center in Jerusalem, 516 CPAs will receive their licenses in the presence of ICPAS president Doron Kofman and Minister of Justice Yaakov Ne'eman.
ICPAS will have 11,997 members, 307 more than in January 2010.
Kofman said, "Our profression continues to change as are the requirements and needs of accounting firms' clients. ICPAS is the professional address for its thousands of its members where they can improve their business skills. As a voluntary organization, we consider it an achievement that hundreds of young people are choosing to join ICPAS each year, which proves that it has unabated vigor after 80 years."
