Partner in recruitment drive
The company is hiring dozens of employees for its wireline services and is appointing a manager for its Internet business.Partner Communications (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR is hiring dozens of employees for its new wireline inland telephony services. Sources inform ''Globes'' that the company has also placed CTO and VP technology Alon Berman in charge of its Internet service business.
Berman has in his current role for a number of years, and is one of the company veterans. As part of Partner's long-term program, Avi Berger has been appointed as Berman's deputy and will take over the management of the company's cellular services while Berman concentrates on the necessary engineering work and marketing operations for the new activity.
Partner is in the final stages of the building of a mega call center at an investment of tens of millions of shekels. The bidders in the tender are Nortel Networks (NYSE; TSX: NT), Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO), Avaya, Tadiran Communications, and Genesys. The supplier selected by Partner will first build the designated call center for the company's wireline and Internet access services, and will then build the company's new cellular services center which is expected to include 2,000 new IP points.
As first reported by "Globes", Partner has selected Juniper to build its new Internet backbone on which it will operate both its cellular services, and the planned wireline and Internet access services. The company originally planned to have the new services up and running by August but this is highly unlikely to happen until early next year.
