Manpower: Demand for senior staff up
“The data conform to recent forecasts published by Manpower Inc. (NYSE:MAN), which indicate that we’re witness to a global shortage of skilled senior managers, including in Israel,” said Manpower Professional manager Sheli Saar.
Data for the fourth quarter 2006 actually indicates a slowdown in demand for senior managers. Demand was 15.2% higher compared with the corresponding quarter of 2005. Manpower predicts that demand in the first quarter of 2007 will be the same as in the preceding quarter.
In a separate development, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor has published a comprehensive survey that indicates 43,000 available positions in the fourth quarter of 2006 - a 17.4% increase over the preceding quarter, and 23.8% higher than in the corresponding quarter of 2005.
