Manpower: Demand for workers up 2.9% in November
Demand for construction workers rose 33.2%.Manpower Israel reports a 2.9% rise in demand for workers in November 2006, compared with October. Demand is still 7.5% lower than in November 2005, however.
“It’s possible to see only a slight increase in demand for workers in November, reflecting the slowdown in demand in this quarter compared with the beginning of the year and 2005,” said Manpower Israel CEO Orna Segal. “The slowdown started during the war and has persisted. Data indicate that demand is static.”
Manpower Israel said that despite the overall rise in demand for workers, demand in most sectors actually fell, albeit not by much. The sharpest drop was in agriculture, down 17%, and the largest increase was in construction, up 33.2%.
