High tech salaries show slight rise

November 23, 2010. Globes: Tzahi Hoffman

The average high tech salary in Israel rose by 2.4% over the past year (from November 2009-2010) after falling 2.5% in the preceding 12 months. These figures were published today by Prof. Moshe Zviran of Tel Aviv University's Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration who surveyed 260 high tech companies around the country.

Prof. Zviran said, "The development in salaries was not even. Salaries fell 0.3% in the first part of the year but rose 2.7% in the final months offset the negligible fall at the start of the year."

The research found that placement of high tech employees rose by 1.6% over the past year.

Prof. Zviran said, "High tech went through the crisis at the end of 2008 and start of 2009 with the economy recovering in the middle of last year when layoff stopped. The level of salaries began to rise after that with a small fall at the start of this year."
