Salaries of senior staff were unchanged.Jobs portal Jobinfo reports that high-tech salaries are continuing to fall in the second quarter of 2009. Jobinfo saw a clear trend whereby salaries at the lower end of the high-tech scale fell, whereas salaries in the top range of more senior staff stayed the same. In other words companies are offering lower salaries to new junior staff coming into the company, while more senior staff leaving for a different job are able to maintain their salary levels.
Jobinfo VP Ofra Afagin-Hadad said, "In the second quarter of 2009 we see a fall of 6.6% in the salaries of high-tech employees, and recruitment of employees for hardware, software and Internet has risen 4.5%. So we can say that the trend is a moderate fall in salaries but among young people with three years experience, the falls are higher and basic salary lower. I think we will see even sharper falls in the third quarter."
In software salaries fell by 13% for software developers with no experience.
In the Internet sector there were falls of 5-15% for thise woth only one to three years experience.
In biomed there was no change in the level of salaries.
