This role will manage the accounting responsibilities within the Accounting Office. The position works among cross functional teams to ensure the accounting activities are appropriately analyzed, processed and documented in compliance with internal controls, process and procedure and local country regulations.

What you'll do

Responsible for managing several functional accounting areas within the local accounting office.
Responsible for the employee payrolls and HR benefits processing for your countries
Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings, payments, and supporting schedules
Oversee account analysis, reconciliations, and preparation of journal entries to the general ledger
Oversee the disbursement processes ensuring timely and accurate payment processing in compliance with company policy and legal requirements
Review/approve local disbursements in accordance with the company’s authority policy
Work with internal/external auditors to provide requested support for your countries
Provide local support to the company resolving issues that arise in your countries
Represent your countries in cross-departmental work groups and ad-hoc assignments
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all duties assigned to you and your team
Work multiple projects simultaneously, complying with required deadlines and adjusting priorities
Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong internal controls to reduce risk of fraud and ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting that are in alignment with local laws and regulations and the Company’s policies and US regulations (such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sarbanes Oxley, PCI & PII.
Responsible for staying abreast of regulatory labor and tax changes and work with peers to incorporate them into schedules, reports, and monthly procedures
Provide technical direction and training to internal customers as necessary
Identify and implement process improvements and automation efforts; working with internal customers and external suppliers to achieve results

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

University degree with a focus in Accounting or equivalent education/experience
At least 3 years supervisory/management experience
At least 5 years of related accounting experience
Proven experience of International business practices, tax and labor laws
Fluent in verbal and written English
Demonstrated excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
Must possess critical thinking skills as well as being a strategic thinker
Commitment to high standards, integrity and ethics
Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
Ability to motivate employees in working as a team
Strong organizational skills
Ability to deal with confidential subject matters
Self-motivated and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization
Able and willing to work flexibly with a willingness to undertake Domestic and International travel as required
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards
Adaptable to change

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

CPA, ACCA, AAT, MBA or equivalent education/certification
Demonstrated knowledge of airline accounting practices
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP
Ability to speak additional languages relevant for the countries of
