Job Summary: Director of Technology Maternity Leave Replacement
Estimated Starting Date: November 2020
The Director of Technology is responsible for leading technology in all areas of the school.
Supervise and coordinate activities of the tech services team and the technology coaches to ensure continuity and alignment with school vision and curriculum.
Work with members of the Technology Department and the Leadership Team to implement the current Technology Strategic Plan for both instructional and administrative use of computers/technology.
Maximize teaching and learning in face-to-face, virtual and hybrid learning environments through appropriate technology and training.
Provide technology integration support for High School faculty and students if needed.
Coordinate with the Technology Coaches and tech services department the purchase, repair, and maintenance of equipment with local and overseas vendors.
Coordinate and provide professional development opportunities for the WBAIS community on the use of technology.
Advise the Senior Administration of technological advancements and how those things may affect WBAIS.
Advise faculty, students, and community on matters related to technology and digital wellness through presentations and regular written communication.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and improvements of technology resources.
Oversee the Technology Department Help Desk and assist in troubleshooting breakdowns in hardware/software.
Supervise procedures for the appropriate use and storage of data.
Implement policies, procedures, and systems that align with data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
Manage the Technology Budget and coordinate all hardware and software purchases, vendor arrangements, and the subsequent implementation of these items.
Ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are maintained relative to hardware and network installation, repair and usage.
Keep the Director of Technology informed throughout the duration of maternity leave
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid teaching certification
Successful teaching experience
Experience with Seesaw, PowerSchool, Google Suite for Education, Google Classroom, Atlas, Zoom, Smartboard and Destiny programs
Experience with using Apple laptops and iPads for teaching and learning
Experience with supporting schools in both virtual and hybrid teaching environments
Excellent leadership, organizational and planning skills in integrating information technology across curriculum areas and school levels.
Successful previous experience in technology in international school characterized by cultural diversity and wide-ranging ability levels of the student body.
Ability to manage, coordinate and make decisions based on a wide variety of input
Ability to work effectively as a team leader and team member
Can communicate respectfully and effectively with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
Clear understanding of ISTE standards, curriculum, curriculum development and a variety of instructional methodologies appropriate for technological use.
Flexible: able to assess, analyze, and adjust programs accordingly.
Excellent English speaking and writing skills
