Director of Resource Development - Temp, Bilingual
 
Social Psychology for Social Change is seeking an 8-month maternity cover for the Director of Resource Development (100% position).

The Director of Resource Development works closely with the staff, executive team and the CEO in all development and fundraising endeavors. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the fundraising & development process, including:

• Grant and report writing:

o Write effective and engaging letters of inquiry, grant proposals, reports and other documentation according to donor requirements and deadlines;
o Incorporate meaningful data regarding measurement & evaluation of program effectiveness in communications with donors;
o Work with program staff to ensure compliance with grant commitments and maintain a reporting and renewal calendar in an organized and efficient manner.

• Donor stewardship:

o Maintain relationships with existing donors (both foundations and private individuals, in Israel and worldwide);
o Respond to donor requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner and ensure follow-up;
o Identify and develop relationships with new donors and other philanthropic opportunities and actively pursue leads;
o Set up meetings with and manage donor visits, including preparation in advance of meetings, and represent the organization in meetings with donors and donor representatives.

• Organizational:

o Assist with preparing newsletters, communications, and other content writing in English, including website and social media;
o Translate and edit documents for other departments as needed.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Commitment to our vision and mission
• Excellent writing and speaking skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally across both channels in English
• Bachelor’s degree
• Computer skills – Word, Excel, and corresponding Google applications
• Ability to understand Hebrew and flourish in a mostly Hebrew-language environment
• At least three years of experience in resource development and writing requests for competitive grants (examples will be reviewed as part of the application process)

• Willingness to ‘pitch in’ and assist with tasks outside the role when needed – to be a team player;
• Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere;
• Motivation to pay attention to detail and practice accountability for tasks and goals.

Advantages:

• Knowledge of Jewish philanthropy, including the Federation systems
• Experience in writing requests for research grants
• Ability to read and write in Hebrew
• Knowledge of CRM systems
